An online course in elementary differential calculus. Topics include the definition of a derivative, the delta method, the derivative of polynomial and transcendental functions, implicit differentiation, the product, quotient and power rules, curve sketching, and applied maxima/minima problems.

Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
Discuss the underlying concepts behind derivatives
Work with polynomial and transcendental functions
Employ a variety of techniques to find derivatives of functions
Apply the derivative to solve problems including curve sketching, related rates and optimization
