Communication Part-time Studies Course

Course Details

This is an applied communication course that examines systematic techniques to communicate effectively and professionally in the workplace; its goal is to introduce students to technical writing skills and presentation skills needed to succeed in career- related courses and at work.

Prerequisite(s)

Students must have one of the following: 1) English 12 "67%+" or equivalent; 2) COMM 0015 score of 70+.

If you do not have the required English 12 mark, you can take COMM 1106 to help you get into COMM 1120. Transfer credit, PLAR, and exemption requests will not be considered for this course. If you have further questions, contact BCIT_Interior_Design@bcit.ca. *(B)*COURSE DELIVERY: This is not a self-paced course. There will be specific timelines for assignments and exams. You will have readings, discussions, peer review, and assignments to complete each week (although you do NOT have to be online at a particular time or on a particular day). *(C)*FINAL EXAM: You will be required to take the final exam in an online environment on Friday, June 25, from 6:30PM to 9:30PM. Online attendance for the final exam beginning at 6:30PM and ending at 9:30PM is mandatory. *(D)*CLASS SIZE LIMIT: Once the enrolment limit has been reached (FULL), you will not be able to join this class –no capacity override. This course is offered every term, so you will also have the opportunity to take it next term.
