This course introduces students to the artistic and technical platform of video editing using Adobe Premiere. The course starts with an overview of the software interface, basic editing tools, and roles of a video editor. Along with learning how to use the software, students will become familiar with editing styles and the post production work flow, through assignments and handouts provided during the course. Upon completion of the course, students will have the basic skill set to build successful and presentable sequences with video clips provided and exported to compressed video files for upload to various online mediums.

Use of a desktop or laptop computer is required to participate in this course, along with a webcam with camera and microphone. It is important to have a stable and consistent internet connection to access course content. **You will require access to the Adobe Creative Cloud in order to complete this course. Successfully navigate the Adobe Premiere interface.
Organize desktop media.
Explain efficient post-production work flow.
Demonstrate basic sound mixing and sound editing skills.
Identify correct focal lengths, pacing, and continuity for particular types of editing projects.
Use basic editing tools.
Demonstrate basic transitions, effects, and title creations.
Build successful sequences and scenes.
Export media in various formats.
