Course Overview
This is an advanced editing course, to follow pre-requisite BCST 1180, designed to achieve a deeper proficiency of NLEs, narratives and the video editing industry. The curriculum includes a deeper exploration of the industry, in-depth concepts in editing, and technical analysis of cinematic cuts. Students will learn tools for career management as editors, study various editing styles, and gain introductory knowledge in audio and colour grading. This is a computer-based program designed to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and skills necessary for success in the professional editing field.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Organize and evaluate digital media libraries to ensure efficient file storage and retrieval;
- Analyze and integrate advanced sound design and Foley techniques to enhance narrative storytelling;
- Analyze editing theories to construct coherent and engaging for the cut.
- Apply colour theory principles to achieve balance and enhance the narrative.
- Collaborate with other editors around the world.
- Design and optimize professional workflows based on industry-standard processes.

This course will be delivered synchronously in person, requiring your attendance and participation in scheduled classes held at Burnaby Campus SE10 building for the duration of the course.
