BCIT Student Recovery Community

The BCIT Student Recovery Community is an inclusive, compassionate, and accepting space for students who are in recovery from a substance or behaviour addiction, or curious about their relationship to substances and/or other addictive behaviours. Examples include, but are not limited to, alcohol, drugs, disordered eating, gambling, gaming, and more.

This is designed to facilitate connection and peer-support among students who are on their individual recovery pathway. All recovery pathways – from harm reduction to abstinence – are welcome!

Recovery Community Coffee Conversations

Join the Student Recovery Community in the NE1 cafeteria (Burnaby campus) to enjoy a free hot beverage, and learn more about harm reduction, recovery, and safer substance use. There will be resources available, and a peer with lived experience to answer questions you may have. Coffee Conversations will take place every other Wednesday from 11 AM to noon, starting June 14.

If you’re interested in learning more or getting involved, please email student_life@bcit.ca.

Recovery meetings are not a treatment or a substitute for treatment. Please make an appointment with Student Health Services or Counselling and Student Development if you are looking for clinical or provider support.
