Training and Workshops for Faculty and Staff

The following workshop offerings are intended to increase the confidence and skills of faculty and staff when supporting student mental health and well-being, and to further understanding of the role of faculty and staff, including appropriate boundaries when responding to students who are in distress.

To book a training or workshop for your team or department, please complete this survey.

Please email Yuna Chen, Health Promotion Strategist, if you would like to brainstorm ways to embed this training into existing meetings, tailor the workshop to meet the needs of your faculty and staff groups, or determine an optimal delivery method (i.e. virtual, in-person, level of interactivity).

Consulting Services

The Student Life team can meet with faculty and staff to consult on proactive initiatives and/or ways to feel prepared in supporting student well-being. Beyond on-demand training and workshops, our team is available to:

  • Provide consultation on student, faculty, and staff mental health and well-being initiatives;
  • Work with your team to explore ways you can embed well-being in policies or strategic planning;
  • Identify and strengthen capacity for implementing health promotion action in academic programs and Institute committees;
  • Act as a liaison with other Health and Well-being providers and campus support services.

If you would like to work with an Early Assist Manager or Health Promotion strategist, please email the Student Life Office and one of our team members will follow up with you.
