BCIT’s Student Code of Conduct (Non-academic) requires students to behave responsibly, to respect the rights of others, to treat others with dignity and respect and to abide by laws and legislation.

BCIT’s Student Code of Conduct (Non-academic) prohibits behaviour that includes:

  • Threatening, aggressive and abusive behaviour
  • Harassment and bullying
  • Behaviour that disrupts the learning environment or obstruction of teaching
  • Lewd or indecent conduct
  • Public intoxication or the possession of open alcoholic beverages
  • Disorderly conduct or demonstration
  • Theft, damage to property or unauthorized access to BCIT facilities
  • Possession, use or distribution of prohibited or controlled substances
  • Possession of weapons or dangerous substances
  • False representation of self or credentials
  • Abuse of information technology or electronic devices
  • Failure to comply with BCIT authorities
  • Failure to comply with any BCIT policy

Violations of the Student Code of Conduct (Non-academic) will result in the imposition of disciplinary sanctions up to and including suspension from BCIT.
