Kaltura is an open-source video platform supported by BCIT and hosted in Canada. Using Kaltura, you can share videos openly or in the Learning Hub. Students may also upload videos to a course Media Gallery within the Learning Hub. Upon upload, a Creative Commons license can be applied to videos.

BCIT’s instance of Kaltura can be accessed at https://mediaspace.bcit.ca or within the Learning Hub.

Open BCIT videos can be viewed on the Open BCIT channel.

A number of Knowledge Base articles have been created, including:

A self-paced course about Kaltura Mediaspace has been created in the Employee Learning Centre. Staff and faculty can request access by contacting Educational Technology Services at learninghub@bcit.ca.

Using Kaltura In the Learning Hub

In the Videos menu of a course, users may access their course Media Gallery or personal My Media collection. From My Media, users (including students) can upload videos and publish them to a course.
