Course Overview
The Physics 12 Challenge Exam allows students to demonstrate the required physics knowledge and skills at the British Columbia grade 12 level. It covers material related to the topics of graphical methods, vectors, kinematics, dynamics, work, energy and power, momentum, equilibrium, circular motion, gravitation, electrostatics, electric circuits, electromagnetism. Students must review their program entrance requirements to determine the minimum acceptable exam grade.

- ** IMPORTANT INFORMATION - READ CAREFULLY BEFORE REGISTERING ** Students can only write this exam ONCE. The PHYS 0120 exam fee is NON-REFUNDABLE and MUST BE PAID AT THE TIME OF REGISTRATION. Non-payment of the exam fee upon registration will result in the student being dropped from the exam writing without prior notice. This exam will be WRITTEN IN PERSON at the Burnaby campus. Students are required to bring to the exam writing: (1) one piece of valid photo identification (a BCIT Student ID card, Driver's Licence, BC Services Card or Passport), (2) a printed exam registration/exam fee payment receipt obtained through their myBCIT account or from BCIT's Registration department, (3) a scientific calculator (phones and computers are NOT allowed), (4) pen/pencil and eraser. Students will not be permitted to write the exam without the required documentation and the exam fee will be forfeited. Students must arrive at the exam room at least 15 minutes prior to the exam start time for ID and exam registration/exam fee payment verification. The PHYS 0120 exam is designed for those students who are well versed in the topics covered in the BC Physics 12 curriculum and who previously scored a mark equivalent to or exceeding the mark required by their BCIT program of choice. It is the STUDENT's responsibility to review their program entrance requirements to determine the minimum acceptable exam grade. The PHYS 0120 exam is paper-based and a formula sheet will be handed out with the exam. The maximum time allowed to write this exam is 3 hours. The student's exam grade will be available online in the Student Self Service menu Check grades section of their myBCIT account within 2 weeks following the exam writing date.
