Course Overview
Analyses business strategy formulation to give the student practical experience and confidence in handling complex business situations. Comprehensive business cases will be selected in fields such as finance, control, personnel, production, marketing, and general management. Acquaints the student with management decision-making and effective verbal and written business analysis. Teamwork and organizational change are addressed as elements of strategy implementation.
Prerequisite(s)
- 50% in BUSA 2005 or 50% in BUSA 2100

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Integrate related disciplines and skills in a time sensitive decision-making environment.
- Apply strategic management techniques to public and private sectors.
- Perform standard financial statement and ratio analysis.
- Apply strategic theories to business examples.
- Analyse organizations, thus effecting desired changes within a comprehensive, responsive management system.
- Adapt various decision tools to case studies and projects (i.e. Value Chain Analysis, Economic Value business problems) using a structured decision model.
- Recommend solutions to business problems.
- Identify implementation issues when developing a solution to a business problem.
