Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

• ​Interact and communicate professionally with patients, technologists, physicians, and all other allied health professionals.
• Apply theory knowledge to obtain patient history and adequate patient assessment before cardiac procedures.
• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment.
• Record electrocardiograms and review the recording and analysis of electrocardiograms.
• Apply AECG monitors, instruct the patient, and disconnect the recorder at the end of recording.
• Apply theory knowledge to the performance of AECG monitor scanning techniques.
• Apply theory knowledge to the performance of exercise tolerance testing techniques and procedures.
• Observe cardiac device implant procedures.
• Observe pacemaker assessment and programming.
• Apply knowledge of the indications of pacing.
• Describe the various pacing modes/timing cycles.
• Describe functional non-capture and non-sensing.
• Apply knowledge and analysis skills in normal/abnormal pacemaker rhythm.
• Describe functional non-capture and non-sensing.
• Identify indications and contraindications for the use of a magnet.
• Observe the assessment of lead placement at implant.
