About the Commute Smart Challenge

The Green Team has taken on some pretty hefty challenges over the years. First we challenged you all to use less paper with Get Print Smart. Then we got you to turn off your lights with Light Savers. Last year we did battle against wasted heat energy with Heat Savers. This year we bring you our biggest challenge yet…Commute Smart!

The goal of the Commute Smart Challenge is to get the BCIT community out of their cars and try different ways of getting to work. We want to reduce our single-occupancy vehicle (SOV) trips to and from campus and to share stories about how we do it. We also want to work towards improving support and infrastructure for non-SOV commuters at BCIT!

Climb aboard the Commute Smart Challenge by busing, walking, cycling, or carpooling to work. Read through this website for helpful tips on how to make it work for you.
