Course Overview
This course will equip candidates with an in-depth understanding of financing business undertakings, exploring sources of money, the role of business plans, equity capital, the role of debt financing, taxation issues, and cash investments.

Upon successful completion, the candidate will be able to:
- describe the goals of financial management and explain what measures can be used to decide how well the firm's management does at achieving them.
- explain the financial performance of a company as conveyed by a series of its financial statements.
- analyze a firm's performance in respect to its ability to meet sudden cash demands.
- describe the major sources of funds available to either small, medium or larger corporations.
- estimate a firm's degree of operating leverage and financial leverage to predict a firm's profit behaviour as its sales change.
- describe some strategic options available to management that will help a company take advantage of and/or cope better with changes in the firm's revenue levels.
- create a basic business plan that predicts a company's state of affairs in the near future.
- analyze cash needs and plan an investment strategy.
