Our history

Since BCIT’s inception more than half a century ago, we’ve been training British Columbia’s workforce and shaping its economy. Today, we are a thriving Institute with five state-of-the-art campuses.

BCIT is one of British Columbia’s largest post-secondary institutes. Nearly 50,000 students enrol each year, attending the five main campuses as well as more locations province-wide.

Established in 1964, BCIT now has over 185,000 alumni throughout Canada and around the world.
