Your schedule

You will be expected to attend online classes and complete group work between the hours of 8:30am – 5:30pm PST, Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays.

Technology requirements

Students are required to have their own laptop. Please refer to the Bring Your Own Device Specifications [PDF] for requirements.

Laptop costs vary depending on the configuration chosen, but will likely range from approximately $1,000 to $2,000.

Safety on campus

As this program is being delivered online for the Fall term, there’s no requirement for you to come to campus. Please see below for information on accessing instructor support and on the student services offered virtually.

Services and support

Instructors will continue to be available to students remotely, including five dedicated office hours per week. Our Student Services staff continue to offer advice, care, and support as needed to optimize your learning experience. Many services, including Student Health Services, Counselling and Student Development, and Peer Tutoring are offering phone or virtual appointments to BCIT students.

Business Consulting Project

A BCIT Business Consulting Project provides second year Business Information Technology Management students the opportunity to work over a 10 week period with an organization to solve an IT problem or challenge. Students work in a team of two or three to identify potential opportunities, conduct research, and recommend effective IT solutions. Students complete a comprehensive written report and present an oral presentation to the sponsoring organization outlining the student team's recommendations to improve information technology effectiveness.

Business Consulting Projects are different from traditional co-op and internship programs. Students are not assigned to actual positions, but rather fill a consulting role for businesses and organizations. Each project has a BCIT faculty member that serves as an advisor for the student consulting team. Exit surveys from participating companies show that the completed strategic business solutions have a value that far surpassed their expectations.

View a recent student project or view the complete list of past Business Consulting Projects students have completed in a wide variety of industries.

The tools which I took from BCIT have been absolutely game changing for me. Very few programs are producing graduates which have the same breadth of knowledge that the BITMAN program offers. The skills that I learned in the business side of BITMAN were what set me apart from other tech grads.
Maxime Legare Desilets, Program Support Officer at Universities Canada

I received a stellar 3 month review and my boss said, "It feels like you've been here for 2 years, not 3 months." I owe all this to the BITMAN program. It gave me all the tools required for the job, and I couldn't be happier with my current position. Chris Boyd, Business Analyst at Cymax Group

I can already see the impact of the program and the doors it has opened for me. I am also very thankful because this job has brought a huge relief as it has the potential to better my life by supporting myself and my family. Christin Verma, Client Support at Lasso CRM
