Course Details

Introduces calculus course to business students. Topics reviewed are integration, differentiation and applications of calculus to business problems. The students apply calculus through problem sets to gain skills in the various techniques.

Registration approval is automatically given upon full acceptance into the part-time program. Please note that this course is a pre-requisite for ECON8500. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, this class will run completely online. Virtual labs will be held Tuesday evenings, and lectures will be pre-recorded for viewing throughout the week.

Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:

  • Appreciate the basics of limits and continuity.
  • Conceptualize the notion of maxima and minima as captured by derivation techniques.
  • Appreciate the application of Calculus to the social sciences and business.
