In this course, students are introduced to the basics of fire alarm systems, their operation, and the correct method to conduct periodic inspections and tests. Completion of inspection reports will be covered, along with applicable Building Code and Fire Code requirements.
Fire 1050 or equivalent, or basic knowledge of electricity and electronics.

Please ensure that your contact information is current. Please bring a copy of "ULC S536-13 Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems" to the first class to use as a course text. Your place of employment may have a copy or one can be purchased from the Underwriters Laboratories of Canada (ULC) - www.ul.com. No class held on Saturday November 10th - Remembrance Day weekend.

Discuss codes, standards and regulations applying to fire alarm systems.
Identify and describe applicable inspection and test procedures.
Conduct inspections and tests to ensure compliance.
Complete appropriate documentation and reports.
