Course Overview
Introduces calculus course to business students. Topics reviewed are integration, differentiation and applications of calculus to business problems. The students apply calculus through problem sets to gain skills in the various techniques.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Calculate derivatives using the basic derivative rules (power, sum/difference, product, quotient and chain rules).
- Apply the basic derivative rules to business calculations (ex: marginal function calculations).
- Perform one variable optimization and apply this method to business problems (ex: profit maximization).
- Calculate the derivatives of exponential and logarithmic functions.
- Calculate partial derivatives and apply the concept to economics and business applications (ex: level curves, elasticity, etc).
- Perform optimization on functions of more than one variable and apply this method to business examples.
- Perform constrained optimization using the Lagrange and Kuhn Tucker methods and apply to business examples.

- Enrollment is restricted to students accepted into the Flexible Learning (formerly Part-Time Studies) BBA Degree Program. Registration approval is automatically given upon acceptance into the program. This is a hybrid course. Lecture content will be provided asynchronously, and labs will be held in-person Wednesday evenings at the Burnaby campus.
