Course Overview
Welding is typically specified by reference to a welding standard. There are many different welding standards in use around the world, and although they have differences, the standard framework for these welding standards is fairly consistent. Key elements that are usually addressed include the roles and responsibilities for all parties involved, identification and control of base materials and welding consumables, drawings and identification of welds (using welding symbols), qualification of welding procedures, qualification of welders, and inspection and quality control. In this course, we will look at each of these components without reference to any specific standard, giving a general understanding of the things that are normally addressed. We will then take a deeper look at the process of welding procedure and welder qualification.
