Course Overview
Explore the changing shape of media and entrepreneurship in this project-based course, as we navigate different strategies to building sustainable funding pathways around your creative endeavours and entrepreneurial goals. Discover how filmmakers, musicians, game developers, podcasters, digital creatives, educators, and other creative entrepreneurs are working towards developing sustainable funding pathways around their projects, from grants to open payments, crowdfunding, ads and affiliate marketing, products and service, investors and more. In the process, design a sustainable funding pathway and timeline to work towards a project that you are passionate about.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Review case studies of creative entrepreneurial endeavours to discover different funding strategies.
- Research and interview creative entrepreneurs to develop case studies demonstrating the funding pathways behind different creative endeavours.
- Outline a creative endeavour that you are developing, including your goals and desired timeline for.
- Define what sustainable funding means for you and your creative endeavours.
- Identify potential sources of funding for your creative endeavours.
- Develop the pitch for a creative endeavour you are working on.
- Refine your pitch for different funding sources.
- Design a crowdfunding campaign.
- Develop a grant application.
- Experiment with ways of earning through open payments.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how to earn from ads and affiliate marketing.
- Identify potential products or services that you can offer.
- Create a fee structure and strategy for selling potential products and services.
- Design a pitch deck for investors
- Construct a sustainable funding strategy around your creative endeavour.
