Course Overview
Under the guidance of faculty subject matter experts, students complete an applied research project. The project includes selection and development of a relevant topic, planning a detailed research proposal, conduction of a literature review, design of an appropriate study methodology and data collection, analysis and interpretation. The project will be completed in a written thesis format, then presented and defended in a public forum.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Define a relevant and worthwhile research area within the subject area prosthetics and orthotics.
- Apply critical thinking strategies to develop and test hypotheses related to specific clinical subject matter.
- Demonstrate accepted methods of Evidence Based Practice to clinical prosthetics and orthotics.
- Describe, present and defend strategies and methods taken to test hypotheses.
- Articulate the meaning of the project and the relevance of it's findings to the prosthetic and orthotic profession.
