Course details
Introduces municipal policies and regulations, which govern property development. Emphasis is placed on zoning and parking by-laws and their impact on types of uses and building size. Presents the development permit application process. This course may be eligible for students to receive funding through the StrongerBC Future Skills Grant at www.bcit.ca/financial-aid/strongerbc-future-skills-grant. Students register themselves into the course, then apply for the StrongerBC Future Skills Grant to cover payment, if eligible.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the student will be better able to:
- Identify the requirements of municipal regulations governing property development and be able to graphically express aspects that apply to specific site conditions.
- Produce a workable design solution to a zoning and parking problem.
- Prepare design development drawings using the graphic tools and language of the industry to represent the necessary design information.
