Faculty and Platform Party FAQs
Yes. All faculty and Platform Party members are required to wear a gown on stage. If you do not own your own gown, please be sure to include this information on the registration form.
Gown pick-up will take place at the Convocation venue – 4812 Willingdon Avenue, Burnaby. Please arrive 30-45 mins prior to your ceremony start time and proceed to the Faculty and Platform gowning room located on the main floor.
Due to limited parking available at the venue, please use the designated Convocation Parking Lots N, M, L, J, G, E and D at BCIT Burnaby on the day of Convocation.
Please note: There is no parking alongside the roadway and all vehicles must be correctly parked in a stall
The faculty and Platform Party sit on stage during each ceremony. The President, Program/Department Head, and faculty will be invited to stand in the procession line as students begin to cross the stage. Everyone is invited to cheer their students on as they cross the stage.
Please note: There will be no handshaking or staged photos on stage during the ceremonies.
