Honouring five outstanding leaders at the 2026 BCIT Vision Awards
On October 29, 2026, the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) will be hosting the Vision Awards, honouring five recipients with the BCIT Honorary Doctorate of Technology Award, Distinguished Alumni Award, Outstanding Student Leadership Awards, and the Faculty and Staff Association Distinguished Alumni Award. The honorees are an inspiration in their fields, and their accomplishments represent the best of BCIT.
BCIT Honorary Doctorate of Technology:
- Shushma Datt, O.B.C. – CEO, i.t. Media Broadcasting
BCIT Distinguished Alumni Award:
- Jordon Gabriel (Forest Resource Technician, 1999 and Renewable Resources – Basic Forestry, 1997) – Community Relations & Forestry Manager, Líl̓wat Forestry Ventures
BCIT Faculty and Staff Association Distinguished Alumni Award:
- Mike Battistel (Architectural Building Engineering Technology Diploma ‘99) – President, Cascadia Windows & Doors; Instructor, Architectural Building Engineering Technology, BCIT
BCIT Outstanding Student Leadership Award:
