Course Overview
This course provides an introduction to general pathology and specifics of bone pathology. The students will study commonly occurring bone fractures, basic chest pathologies and common abdominal pathologies seen in the clinical environment. Emphasis is placed on recognition of fractures and subsequent changes to required patient care and exposure factors. The theoretical component is supported by images demonstrating normal and pathological presentations.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Identify various classifications of wounds.
- Identify and assess fractures, dislocations and inflammatory disorders of the skeletal and respiratory system according to their etiology, pathogenesis, signs and symptoms and diagnostic image presentation.
- Identify the stages of tissue healing repair related to fractures, dislocations and inflammatory disorders through diagnostic image presentations.
- Explain the conditions affecting healing, common treatments and associated complications of fractures, dislocations and inflammation or metabolic disorders in the extremities, spine, pelvis, skull, thorax and abdomen.
- Adapt the examinations to an individual patient based on clinical information.
