Course Overview
Designed to provide participants with a conceptual framework for preparing and conducting negotiations and to give them hands-on experience in using this framework. After analyzing the negotiation concepts, the major focus of the course will be on negotiation exercises designed to highlight a range of important issues about the negotiation process. This course will be relevant to entrepreneurs, managers, lawyers, human and labour relations practitioners and individuals in government. Excellent supplement to either Certificate program.

By the end of the course, the student will:
- Improve skills in negotiation and joint problem solving and decision making.

- HYBRID: This course will be offered 50% in person - on campus and 50% synchronously online. ***Please note that the first class will be held on campus*** The instructor will provide class details in the course outline. This course is eligible for students to receive funding through the StrongerBC future skills grant at www.bcit.ca/financial-aid/strongerbc-future-skills-grant/. Students will register for the course themselves and then apply for the StrongerBC future skills grant to cover payment (if eligible). The Winter 2026 StrongerBC future skills grant (FSG) will only be eligible for students continuing their FSG-eligible program that they started in Fall 2025.
