This course provides both theoretical and practical information relating to high voltage systems. Course topics include high voltage generation/transmission/distribution systems, high voltage cables and terminations, high voltage switchgear, high voltage safety and code requirements.
No class on November 10 (Remembrance Day Weekend). Space is limited so early registration is highly recommended. Registration is processed on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED basis. Once the course is full, students should check back periodically for the latest updates by visiting the BCIT Part time studies website. In the case of course cancellation, students will be notified by email. Please make sure to provide your personal email address upon registration. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Describe the basic layout of high voltage installation including typical equipment associated with these systems.
Have a basic understanding of high voltage safety and Code requirements.
