Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:
- Solve arithmetic equations using quantities and units.
- Solve simple algebraic expressions for one unknown.
- Formulate algebraic expressions based on information presented in paragraph or diagram form.
- Express compared quantities as ratios and proportions.
- Define direct and inverse proportion.
- Apply basic geometry and trigonometry to solve practical problems.
- Calculate irregular areas and volumes using Simpson's rule.
- Explain the concept of probability and calculate basic statistical functions for a set of data.
