Institute Performance Reporting

In support of BCIT’s vision to be integral to the economic and environmental prosperity of British Columbia, the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) provide a balanced view of BCIT’s performance – educational quality, learner satisfaction, employment outcomes, application and enrolment indicators, headcounts.

Program performance reports

BCIT Programs and courses clearly and directly contribute to the success of learners and employers. Our programming is characterized by our technical and professional nature, value in advancing state-of-practice, and ability to graduate practitioners who are also contributing citizens. Program performance reports reflect those features.

For performance reports for full-time and part-time technology, trades and apprenticeship programs offering certificate, diploma or baccalaureate degrees, please go to the Institutional Reporting System. Reports will include the following performance indicators:

Access and Demand:
- Applicant and enrolment indicators
- Labour market demand/outlook
- Competition from other BC Colleges or Institutes
Student Performance:
- Retention, attrition and graduation rates
- Student employment outcomes
Program Quality:
- Graduate rating of satisfaction with studies
- Graduate rating of quality of instruction
- Graduate rating of skill development
Student Demographics:
- Additional information about the student cohort

Enrolment reports

There are numerous standard reports available to extract program and course enrolment data from the Banner Student database. The reports are available in a self-serve format within our Cognos reporting system.

Log-in to Cognos here. Please note: In order to access the Cognos system, you will need a Cognos username and password. If you do not have a Cognos username and password, please contact ir@bcit.ca for assistance.

Enrolment reports are also available on the server and are broken down into enrolments and full-time equivalents, student type, school, and program.
