Indigenous Initiatives and Partnerships is pleased to offer BCIT faculty, staff, students and external participants our Indigenous Awareness course. The course contains the following three modules:

Module 1: Indigenous Peoples

Module 2: Colonization

Module 3: Decolonization

Login instructions

BCIT Employees

All current and new employees automatically have access to the Indigenous Awareness course through the BCIT Employee Learning Hub:

  1. Go to bcit.ca/pd
  2. Log in with:
    1. Your BCIT A# as your ID
    2. For your first login, use your BCIT A# as your password as well. Then change your password – Click your name (upper right), Account Settings

BCIT Students

Students have free access to the Indigenous Awareness course through the BCIT Learning Hub:

  1. Go to learn.bcit.ca
  2. Log in with your BCIT ID and PW
  3. Go to My Tools / Self Registration
  4. Find the Indigenous Awareness course in the list and click the link
  5. Follow the instructions to self-register and the course will appear in your My Courses list

External Participants

Those who are not part of the BCIT community may get access to the Indigenous Awareness course for free by sending an e-mail to techhelp@bcit.ca. We need your full name and your e-mail address, please.
Once set up, you access the course by:

  1. Go to learn.bcit.ca
  2. Log in with your ID and PW = your Firstname.Lastname – no spaces
  3. Find the Indigenous Awareness course in your My Courses list
