Course Overview
This course explores in depth the relationship between a company and its vendors, including risk assessment, supplier selection, supplier monitoring, and vendor rating systems. For a HACCP Plan to be fully implemented it is important to determine what risks may be associated with incoming materials and set up a program that is designed to control and manage these risks.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Develop a Supplier Quality Assurance Program.
- Develop specifications to use for supplier and vendor assessment.
- Develop and apply standards or utilize existing quality standards for auditing.
- Analyse the effect of vendor non-conformance on manufacturing processes and costs.
- Develop and use a risk matrix to prioritize raw materials and their suppliers.
- Set up a ranking system for choosing suppliers.
- Write a Standard Operating Procedure for a basic SQA program.
- Explain how an SQA program integrates food safety, food security, quality, sustainability and social responsibility.
