Course Overview
This course is designed to give students the mathematical skills needed for their studies in Power Engineering. The course provides a foundation of math knowledge that students will carry over to POWR 2221. The course topics include a review of fundamental algebra, basic geometry, and an introduction to trigonometry.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic mathematical principles.
- Perform operations involving exponents, scientific notation, and imperial and metric systems.
- Perform operations involving monomials and multinomials.
- Solve word problems by translating English phrases into algebraic expressions.
- Apply principles of geometry involving angles, plane figures and solid figures.
