Course Overview
This course is designed to allow the student to continue to assimilate previous academic and practical experience, with CLGT training, to explore some of the subject matter for clinical genetics. Students will be given assigned readings/case studies and will use online discussion forums to post individual comments. Student-led In-class discussions will occur for review and to practice teamwork skills. The written final examination will consist of questions based on all readings and case studies.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course, learners will be able to:
- Critically analyze scientific literature on topics relevant to the Clinical Genetics Technology profession including CCMG guidelines for record retention.
- Write individual feedback based on assigned readings/case studies.
- Participate in the course-specific online discussion forum with other class members.
- Generate review material based on assigned readings.
- Organize and communicate information based on subject matter and current technologies for Clinical Genetics.
- Understand the principles of cryopreservation and recovery.
- Demonstrate effective teamwork skills.
- Participate during in-class discussions using appropriate communication techniques.
- Practice collaborative leadership and conflict management as part of an interprofessional healthcare team.
