Course Overview
In this course, students will examine and demonstrate all aspects of professional voicing, including newsreads, 'voice over' and other scripted performances. Students will learn basic and advanced speech patterns and how they are manipulated. Students will identify the unique voice characteristics that comprise an individual ‘voice’ personality. In addition, students will have the opportunity to write short personality and editorial scripts.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
- Troubleshoot basic speech patterns in a voice over recording.
- Apply voice techniques to enhance a voice over production.
- Analyze unique characteristics that comprise the individual voice.
- Demonstrate professional practice in the recording studio according to specified criteria.
- Communicate the intended message to the desired audience through the effective use of voice.
- Perform several models of voice over styles.
- Compose short personality and editorial scripts.
- Explain and apply Alternative Dialogue Replacement (ADR) techniques.
- Explain the role of the Union of B.C. Performers (UBCP) in script performance.
