Course Overview
This course prepares student to use ladders to Level One Apprenticeship proficiency. In addition the course provides students with an introduction to safe rigging practices and a basic introduction to the use and operating maintenance of mobile equipment as well as scaffolds. The content of the course is aligned with SkilledTradesBC’s 2014 Competency Profile Chart and includes the following competencies: C5.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Describe the use of ladders, scaffolds and mobile access equipment
- Perform routine inspection of mobile access equipment
- Use ladders to perform millwright duties
- Use correct rigging and safe practices to perform millwright duties
