Course Overview
In this course students will learn the basic planning skills they need to make a successful entry into the workforce. Students will complete a Final Project designed to take the student through various steps using knowledge they have acquired throughout the program. In their Final Project, students will have the opportunity to apply knowledge regarding safety requirements, rigging requirements, drafting, repairing of threads, packing material, layout procedures, removal and installation of components, repairing of these components and replacing them. In addition, students will learn and work through the process of creating cover letters and resumes directed towards obtaining employment within the millwright trade. A job search component is included in this process.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Prepare for Employment
- Research the millwright trade job market with the aim of obtaining employment
- Create a cover letter and a resume tailored to specific employment opportunities in the millwright trade
- Complete the Final Project
- Disassemble and reassemble a specific shop machine while applying the skills learned throughout the program
- Fabricate a workpiece while applying skills learned throughout the program
