Course Overview
This course introduces students to the concepts of network security, the terminology, and the insight into how to secure operating systems and networks. Students will learn how to identify risk, to participate in risk mitigation activities, and to provide secure infrastructure to support the three pillars of security (confidentiality, integrity, and availability). Students investigate security technologies and products, troubleshoot security events and incidents, and are exposed to applicable policies, laws, and regulations. Ethical values and moral obligations are stressed. Students will monitor the network using various network operating systems tools to respond to security breaches, and acquire the skills to implement basic security services on computer networks.
