Course details

This course provides students with insight into the Linux operating system and reviews core skills in configuration and installation of the operating system. Both the command line and GUI interface are used. Students explore file systems, users and groups, the Bash shell, process management, the VI text editor, searching and organizing data, regular expressions and permissions. It is recommended that students have prior exposure to computer operating systems. Students must have access to a Windows based multi-media computer.

  2. No class on Monday, May 20th (Victoria Day) or Monday, July 1st (Canada Day). This course will be offered 50% in person - on campus and 50% synchronously online. The instructor will provide details in the course outline. This course is part of the Network Administrator Technician program. It can be taken as part of the program or as a stand-alone.
