​Students will be introduced to the current release of Adobe InDesign as it relates to interior design. Design principles will be implemented to create documents such as posters.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  • Create well-crafted graphic layouts of various formats.
  • Apply the Hierarchy of Information approach to create effective visual communication.
  • Implement the principles of design to create balanced and dynamic layouts
  • Create a document with margins, columns, guidelines to position any object precisely on a page both horizontally and vertically.
  • Format text by changing fonts and applying kerning, tracking, and alignment setting.
  • Create Paragraph Style, Object Style and Character Style consistent overall design.
  • Create text that flows along a curved path.
  • Develop colour schemes, including the application of colours, tints, and gradients.
  • Use Shape tool, Pen tool, and Pathfinder to create and modify graphics.
