Course Overview
This course is the second of a two-course series, designed to provide students with hands-on training and application of field techniques used to conduct assessments supporting restoration methods, related to variety of ecosystem types, with a continued emphasis on field safety. Modules included in the class may vary among years and will depend on the season they are conducted in. Modules may include (but are not limited to) assessments in areas such as water quality, stream flow, fish and fish habitat, benthic macroinvertebrates, vegetation, and installation and stability assessments of in-stream wood structures. Each module will focus on proper maintenance and use of survey equipment essential to obtaining accurate results, as well as proper interpretation of field survey results. Each term, several modules will be provided to students, of which there will be required modules and others offered as a selection. Students will complete a minimum number of modules to complete the course
