Course Overview
Teaches students, who speak English as an additional language, the English language and communication skills they need to be successful in their Interior Design Program. The course will place the greatest emphasis on helping students to develop their speaking and oral presentation skills, but it also includes activities and assignments designed to improve the students' reading and writing skills, group work skills, and interpersonal skills. To teach the language and communication skills students need in their Interior Design Program, this course will use content and assignments from Interior Design Materials (INTD 3070), one of the courses in the Interior Design Program. Students will be applying the language skills they learn in COMM 0001 to complete projects and prepare and deliver presentations in their other Interior Design courses.
