Covers basic components and requirements for sound estimating procedure emphasizing method and accuracy and in preparation for applying material and labour prices.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications for all divisions 1 through 16 for quantity take-off.
- Determine scopes of work for quantity take-off.
- Lay out industry-standard spreadsheet quantities.
- Take off into categories for costing.
- Use Excel as a computer spreadsheet application for data entry, data manipulation and summary consolidation.
