Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications for all divisions 1 through 16 for quantity take-off.
- Determine scopes of work for quantity take-off.
- Lay out industry-standard spreadsheet quantities.
- Take off into categories for costing.
- Use Excel as a computer spreadsheet application for data entry, data manipulation and summary consolidation.

There will be specific time lines for assignments and exams.*** A computer with speakers is required for this course. You must also have an e-mail address and access to a computer capable of downloading basic documents. Students will participate in weekly "Virtual Classroom" sessions, per the above class schedule. Important course information will be sent to registered students closer to course start date. Make sure your email address on your student account is correct and up to date. This course is eligible for students to receive funding through the StrongerBC future skills grant at www.bcit.ca/financial-aid/strongerbc-future-skills-grant/.
