Course Overview
This course builds upon ASTP 1203 Automotive Business Administration. It provides you with the opportunity to apply already obtained skills to areas such as human resource hiring, business operation analysis, equipment acquisition analysis, facilities analysis, and marketing strategies. You will also acquire skills necessary to provide constructive recommendations for the day-to-day business of an Automotive Service Operation.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the student will be able to:
- Describe and produce the elements of a shop administration policy and procedure manual.
- Manage an automotive repair clinic.
- Describe various human resources issues/procedures related to the recruiting, interviewing, and selection process of new employees.
- Analyze repair orders and prepare efficiency/productivity reports.
- Prepare a cost analysis to justify the acquisition of new equipment and tools for the service area.
- Describe the major aspects of facility design and operation.
- Describe marketing strategies that promote customer attraction, satisfaction, and retention.
- Describe the insurance needs of an automotive service facility.
- Prepare a presentation on new technologies entering the service facility.
