Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Apply advanced principles of composition and layout to develop complex and engaging page layouts suitable for both print and digital distribution.
- Create and implement a comprehensive system of parent pages, character, paragraph and object styles, showcasing proficiency in managing and formatting long documents.
- Design and produce interactive layouts that incorporate hyperlinks, buttons and multimedia, for enhancing user engagement.
- Utilize advanced InDesign features to export documents to interactive formats with a focus on ensuring cross-platform functionality, accessibility, and optimal viewing experiences.
- Demonstrate proficiency in creating and integrating complex assets such as vector illustrations and raster graphics, into InDesign projects.
- Package and prepare a multi-page document for print or digital output, ensuring it meets specific supplier requirements, including printer spreads or reader spreads.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and clients, utilizing InDesign's collaborative features and adhering to project timelines and standards.
- Conduct preflight checks and packaging to ensure all assets and fonts are included, verifying documents meet print and digital standards.
- Apply advanced typography techniques, including the use of OpenType features, glyphs, and advanced type controls, to enhance the visual appeal and readability of the designs.
