Course Overview
In this course, students become familiar with developing, marketing, and managing successful multi-day travel and tour packages. Using innovative tourism-specific research tools, students apply the concepts of values-based travel and traveller segmentation to develop compelling, experiential travel and tour products. Students are introduced to evolving niche areas of travel such as adventure, sports, culinary, and health and wellness tourism, among others. The packaged travel industry is examined from the perspective of destinations and businesses working with domestic and international tour operators. Throughout the course, students develop a guided, multi-day tour package for one of British Columbia’s key international markets.
