This course builds on the foundations of STEL 0050: Fall Protection 1 - Work at Height Safety Awareness Training. In this course, students will be introduced to basic rigging practices, and industrial rigging and rescue awareness. Students will learn about knots, anchors, haul systems, mechanical advantage and forces, emergency response planning, emergency situations and rescue awareness.
STEL 0050 Or At least 1-year of Work-at-height experience Or Proof of a basic fall-protection course.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
Recognize hazards and develop a plan to manage them.
Display an awareness to hazards while working at height.
Minimize fall distance and fall factor with work at height.
Explain the theory of mechanical advantage and its application in hauling and raising systems.
Use various knots.
Explain the effects on angles and forces in rigging systems.
Use safety factor calculations.
Inspect fall protection and work at height equipment, fall protection plans, emergency response and rescue plans.
Recognize the critical importance of providing assistance to an injured worker in a reasonable time frame.
