Course Overview
This course is for new or potential inspectors who have been designated to conduct inspections of inquiries/complaints filed with the professional colleges in British Columbia. Participants will be provided with the beginning knowledge and skills required to investigate inquiries/complaints in accordance with appropriate laws and policies under the Health Professions Act of BC. A theoretical core body of knowledge is provided followed by guidance into the investigation process in order to provide the participants with beginning skills needed to become an inspector.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the current legislation applicable to the investigation process.
- Describe the policies and procedures of Colleges applicable to the investigation process.
- Define the steps in the complaint/inquiry process.
- Outline the preparation for an investigation by defining the investigative tools pertinent to inspectors' role.
- Detail the information gathered during an investigation.
- Outline the basics of writing a final report with analysis and conclusions of an investigation
