Control is integral to the safe and efficient operation of industrial processes. This course is suitable for individuals who are interested in applied control and/or do not have an extensive mathematical background. A hands-on approach will cover the basic principles of process dynamic behaviour leading to suitable choice of control strategy. On/off, proportional, integral and derivative control strategies will be developed in class and applied in the lab. Advanced control strategies such as ratio, cascade, multivariable and feed forward systems will be introduced. Who should attend: The course is designed for Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, Chemical Engineers, Electricians, Electrical Technicians, Electrical Technologists, Plant Operators, Plant Engineers, Electrical Supervisors, and Production Staff.
Familiarity with processes and basic understanding of electricity.
