Comfortable with your voice and now ready to work towards completing your voice demo? This course builds on the essential vocal elements explored in BCST 2251 and 2255. When completed, you will be well on your way to completing a professional voice-over demo and searching for work. Each class consists of group work and individual practice, with instructor/student one-to-one time to address individual strengths and challenges. You will utilize multiple vocal techniques and exercises to to voice any commercial or narrative – including documentary and animation roles – as well as speak in front of any group with confidence.

Upon successful completion, the student will be able to:
Paraphrase ideal conditions for a healthy voice.
Identify and warm-up many different vocal resonators.
Apply your voice for the specific job at hand.
Carry out repeat performances under pressure.
Discover the most interesting way to deliver the copy.
Demonstrate the skill to play with subtexts/thoughts/emotions under the words.
Practice professional studio etiquette and demeanor.
Successfully interpret directing words in a studio environment.
Carry out speaking in front of a large crowd or studio audience with ease.
Assess whether you have captured and maintained the attention of the audience.
Assemble and refine appropriate scripts for a demo.
Recognize and successfully perform animation scripts.
Apply marketing and networking techniques to gain experience/employment.
Identify and practice specific areas you need to further your personal development.
